The History of Ginepp

This Lactobacillus reuteri was isolated in 1972 by Dr. Károly Újhelyi. According to archeological findings, even in ancient times, advanced civilizations manufactured dairy products fermented by lactobacilli (lactic acid producing bacteria), to be used in disease treatment.

The discovery and widespread use of antibiotics, opened new avenues in disease treatment, so previously used medications gradually became obsolete. The spread of antibiotics fell short of solving every single problem, it even introduced new ones by decimating the natural protecting bio flora of the human body.

Since the 60’ scientists have been searching for new methods to increase natural resistance, and bacteria with in vivo antagonist effects against pathogenic strains.

They have experimented with viruses, bacteria, fungi, plastics, but none of them brought sufficient results.

Lactobacillus, as a natural immune-stimulant was first used by Dr. Károly Újhelyi, the first doctor to win the Kossuth prize.

The human body requires Lactobacilli to function. Case in point, a small baby cannot be healthy, if she/he does not have sufficient Lactobacilli in the intestines. A woman cannot be healthy if she does not have sufficient Lactobacilli in her vagina (sheath), and everyone needs Lactobacilli in their intestines.

The newborn acquires Lactobacilli and other pathogens while travelling through the birth canal.X . But because of the stress of birth, the small stomach produces such an amount of 1ml/kg hydrochloric acid, that pH levels decrease to 1-2. The Lactobacillus can survive this, while the pathogens cannot. They also need iron to reproduce. Normally breast milk (colostrum) contains Lactobacilli, but does not contain iron, but does have iron-binding lactoferrin, so the pathogens cannot reproduce. The newborn is born with approximately 450mg of iron. Most of this iron is bound to Hemoglobin. In 3 months the amount of Hemoglobin is halved, and this iron gets to the developing tissues. We have known this for decades, but the importance of intestinal bacteria in the development of the brain of babies has only become clear in the past few years. Scientists have only just begun researching which special bacteria require the varied monosaccharaides contained in breast milk. Czeizel wrote and said in 2015, that in Hungary, more than 1 million women lack sufficient Lactobacilli. This should be supplemented at least in their newborn babies. (Normal vaginal physiology).

According to Witkin’s studies, a woman can only be healthy, if the Lactobacilli bound to the epidermis of the mucosa gets killed off by the Lysozyme contained in the mucus, and carries the Pre-antigens gained from the destroyed Lactobacilli to the immune cells in the sub mucosa. These activate the COX 1 enzymes in order to prevent inflammation. But if the tissues are inflamed, the Lactobacilli cannot be killed off, in such cases they might even be dangerous.

Today in Hungary there are 1 million cases when there is either insufficient Lactobacilli, or tissue inflammation. So replenishing these Lactobacilli may help prevent and heal gynecological inflammation. It is clear, that inflammation can lead to many complications. Our workgroup wrote down and proved that the main cause of premature birth and intrauterine atrophy is inflammation. There are some that put this around 70%. With a Lactobacillus injection this can be prevented.

I take personal pride in the following: Dr. JP German lawyer and his wife had to bury their 4 prematurely born babies. Following this, he went to work for EFCNI /European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants/. I treated the couple with the Lactobacillus injection developed by our small group. Their fifth was born healthy, with a weight of about 4kgs. The WHO declared this child’s birthday, /November 17./ World Prematurity Day. As it can be seen, inflammation is the prime cause of premature birth and intrauterine atrophy, which we proved first. Inflammation is easy to cure:with Lactobacillus injections. In Kazincbarcika and the surrounding areas we treated more than 10.000 women with Lactobacillus injections. I witnessed childbirths day after day thanks to this. This was the basis of one report that “Gyógyhírmagazin” (Hungarian medical magazine) published in 2007 April. Its title: Could 100.000 expected babies be born?  Considering our results, and the size of the country, this is realistic. Based on the previous data, for 300.000 infertile couples this is the bare minimum.

Czeizel wrote and said that in Hungary 1 million women lack a healthy Lactobacillus flora. According to a study from 5 years ago in the USA more than 33% were in a similar situation. Their babies lack sufficient Lactobacilli, and sadly they are not replenished.

Approximately 30-40 years ago Dr. Károly Újhelyi brought two ampules, and said that the two Lactobacilli contained in them were the same. One of them was from the great grandmother, the other from the great grandchild. Today this is unimaginable, because of the huge amount of antibiotics. In the original publication of Dr. Károly Újhelyi, he wrote, that out of the 1000 women he treated for gynecological inflammation, 138 were infertile. They were also only treated with Lactobacillus injections /their husbands were not examined, or treated/ and in practice they produced a 50% birth rate. During the examination in Esztergom, out of 10 infertile women 6 successfully gave birth, after treatment. They experienced similar results during the examination in Budapest.

I am a pediatrician. I worked long years as the leading manager for Vakcina kft. I received calls from infertile couples daily. My answer was always the same. Visit their general practitioner and get receipts for Lactobacillus injections for both of them. If they were young, i only gave them lifestyle advice. With this I am responsible for many children’s births. This shows that inflammation is the leading cause in the case of infertility as well. We knew we only used a part of the healing capabilities of Lactobacilli. According to one article of Clinical Infectious Diseases /2008.46 S96-100/ specific Lactobacilli will have an important role to play curing allergies, diarrhea, intestinal inflammation, respiratory infections, tooth decay, tumors, diabetes, preventing and healing ethanol induced liver diseases, rejection reactions, and eliminating nasal pathogens. They don’t know of the European studies proving that the best existing treatment for gynecological inflammation is the Lactobacillus injection. They were not paying attention to the patent offices either, since Dr. Újhelyi has known since the 1970’ that the Lactobacillus injection is a great cure for the inflammation and benign hypertrophy of the prostate. Acting on the advice of the patent office, we supplemented this with treating 100 patients. Later on we published this in “Magyar Urológus” (Hungarian Urology) and “Szabaduló Szakorvos” (Escaping Specialist). Patent offices accepted it in Hungary, Europe, Asia, and much later in America. It caused major improvement in 80% of those with 5 years of health complaints. 50% became completely asymptomatic, with most of them permanently. We planned serious clinical trials, the plans were accepted, but, sadly the trials did not happen because of a lack of funds. This could have been a real (original and unique Hungarian idea) Hungarikum. It was an idea 40 years ahead of its time. A Hungarian patent yet it concerns hundreds of millions of people. Even in 2005 I was lectured how unscientific the assumption was, that the inflammation of the prostate might be a reason for its hypertrophy. This is really what the textbooks say, but not our observations. The first publication of this was released in 2012. Dr Újhelyi has known about it since 1970. I have treated my relatives and friends successfully since the middle of the 1970’s.

The Lactobacillus injection we developed and applied never caused any side effects.

During the safety trials it proved harmless every time. /OKI, GyEL, Institute of Microbiology/

The Lactobacilli used in the injections also proved greatly effective in laboratory environments. This Lactobacillus reuteri increases phagocyte activity over twenty-fold, and significantly increases the amount of inflammation reducing interleukin 10 and laktoferrin.
